One Web Day is an Earth Day for the Internet. Think of it as a worldwide environmental movement for the Internet ecosystem. On this day, we gather all Internet stakeholders – end-users, regulating bodies, commercial providers – and unite in protecting and defending the Internet.
OneWebDay is a day when users of the World Wide Web are encouraged to show how the Internet affects their lives. It is held on September 22. The purpose of the event is to globally celebrate online life. The goal of celebrating OneWebDay each year is to create and make visible a global constituency that cares about the future of the Internet.
Philippine Internet Users’ Society (PIUS) is the official partner of the OneWebDay Inc., a nonprofit organization based in New York, USA, which is also identified with groups and influential individuals who are the architects behind the Internet. PIUS is part of the worldwide planning group for the September 22 OneWebDay celebration in the Philippines.
