Secure/Restricted Boot is anti-freedom to run software that you want on your owned purchase computer it’s another act of monopoly for user to use proprietary software only!

Restricted Boot is disastrous restriction on computer users and not a security feature at all.

1. House Bill No. 1011 – Promoting the development and use of free and open source software in the Philippines (FOSS).

The freedom to run, copy, distribute, study and change the software is the essential part of this House Bill, but the fact that Philippines has a small amount of budget to Information and technology are only one of the most reason why our government must switch to free or open source software. Despite of higher cost of proprietary software it is the most prone to virus and security vulnerability not like a free software GNU/Linux that been used most in the top super computer in the world.

2. House Bill No. 195 – Accelerate the development of Information Technology Startup by Providing IT Venture and Funds. “IT Venture Capital Fund”.

We have a lot of talent and high skilled technology expert but the problem is they are now working with some biggest IT company, that’s belong at least to top fortune 500. We also have a small penetration of Startup Company and despite that most of them are bootstrapping they are taking us lead and hopefully snatch a success spot.

With this house bill I believe more Filipino will going to be engage and will be encourage in building and starting a startup.

3. House Bill No. 1230 – The Creation of Department of Information Technology and Communication.
Information Technology is absolute need and part of our daily life that’s why we should carefully watch over it how it’s change and apply to us in daily basis, we need this department not only to take care about our technology but at least to guard our freedom in software and hopefully this department will hold the Importance of House Bill No. 1011 and not just become an arena of proprietary software.

Imagine that you have 10 computers in the office and if you are using free software that’s a 10 times of saving.

In Proprietary software upgrade has always a cost and most of the time it’s new licensing fee so its another 10 times of savings if you are using a free software.

Use Libre Office, in a free software Office application is already included, while in proprietary software you need to buy it separately so it’s another cost for licensing, same with the upgrades or for a newer version.

Well known proprietary software has a lot of hole and viruses that cost not only in licensing but also for a lost of works and security. In free software like Gnu/Linux with a very small penetration of virus you can also download or get a free antivirus.

Get all the tools that you need for free, like Image editor Gimp, Music/Video Player and Html Editor, get everything at no cost and without hurting your business operation budget.

So instead of using pirated proprietary software why not using free or open source software?

I really doubt about this email so I re-search on web and I find almost similar post and question regarding this scam.

Here the email scam, I remove their URL and some information not because I’m afraid, I just don’t want to give them key word on my website where basically one of their tactic.

I really doubt that in some matters my domain name extension is still free to register.

I got a source code of Mysql 4.0 and all the version and build of Mysql 5.0, In case Oracle do some mess in MySQL at least I have its original version like others do, And I’m ready to do a fork of it in case a worst scenario begins. But off course I’m prepared to support community that will pledge to fork MySQL freely for community.


MySql is develop from C,C++ and available for download. Individual, community and business may fork it depends on their will, it will takes time to study the source code but I know with everybody’s help we can still make MySQL a live and free available in the future.
